Here is my golf life..........
My golf career started at age 13 and just in case your wondering, I've now been playing for 41 years. I played on Lindbergh High School's girls' golf team for four years and won the Missouri Girls High School State Tournament my junior and senior year.
I played college golf for Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where I medaled in several tournaments during my four years there. We were Conference Champions my junior and senior years. I was also a NCAA Academic All-American. By the way, I majored in Early Childhood Education and hold bachelors and masters degree in Education.
During college, my summer job was coordinating the Gateway PGA Junior Tournament Series in the greater St Louis area.
Before turning professional, I was the Club Champion at Norwood Country Club for two years and was very involved in the St Louis Women's District Golf Association. I won the Invitational Tournament twice, the 3-Day Medal Tournament once and served as the Rules Chairperson for two years. I qualified twice for the U.S. Womens Amateur.
In 1993 I joined the LPGA T&CP and began giving golf lessons at Golfport of Maryland Heights (then known as Creve Coeur Recreation Complex). I have been a Class A professional for 17 years. During my years in the LPGA T&CP, I have completed many education and service opportunities. Most recently I have been serving as the Chair of the Nominating Committee for the Midwest Section of the LPGA T&CP, and as a committee member for the LPGA Hall of Fame.
During this same timeframe, I have worked at Altair Travel where I specialize in golf travel as well as general leisure travel.
I am the Assistant Golf Coach for the Parkway West High School Golf Program. The girls' season is in the fall and boys' in the spring. It is very rewarding to be involved with young adults on these teams.
I enjoy teaching golf and having the opportunity to connect with students and facilitate improving their golf game. I approach each student as an individual and develop a learning plan, based on his or her needs and goals. From private lessons to small groups and clinics. I look forward to seeing you on my lesson tee!!
